Celebrity Spam

Isn't it bad enough that we binge on Netflix, Amazon Prime and even Youtube? Celebrities have encroached on nearly every waking minute of our lives. You can't get away from it. Every media outlet has massive sections that just cover celebrities (yes I see the irony of even discussing it here as i complain about it). The news sounds like a montage of celebrity vomit.
People are confused. They think celebrities are world leaders and world leaders are celebrities. The opinion of both on domestic policy and world events suddenly have equal weight as if some beautiful pretender really has any idea what the world is like.

Pop culture is destroying the American image around the world. People read our news and see some billionaire bonehead grumbling about our President as their breasts and backsides spill out of their outfits. The world looks at this and thinks, "What is going on in the US if THIS is what is in the news?".
I am not to concerned with what foreigners think of the US policy on healthcare or social security. What concerns me is we are being misrepresented and it is our own media and media habits fault.
